My great grandmother experienced neglect, abuse, medical neglect and so much more in the carehome that was supposed to keep her safe.

Her choices were not respected, she suffered injuries, illness brought on by neglect and then passed away in pain because of this.

The problems were throughout the whole system. From care commission down to carers on the floor of the care home.

In the end I fought to take her home during the pandemic. This was not easy and took me 7 months. I received no carers allowance because I was a full time student.

I can't even begin to express the pain and heartbreak my grandmother endured for so many different reasons. All of which could have been avoided.
